Strandline Sculptures was born in 1997 on the south coast of England, when I discovered a large chunk of oak tree half buried in a local beach. Since that day I have been trying to express the shapes and forms that I see in drift and other (recovered) wood, often melded with beach glass, rope and other marine objects. My pieces range thro’ representational and biomorphic to abstract and surreal. Sometimes my work takes the form of 3D pictures, involving painting, montage and sometimes the incorporation of digital images …... so, ancient and modern. While my art may be ‘conceptual’ in some respects, it professes no insight into the meaning of life, and makes no attempt (in the current idiom) to “challenge definitions of space” - It comes ‘as is’, without historical baggage, and is warranted free of: ‘merde d’artiste I hope you like some of the pieces They often say quite different things to different folks If you have any comments or queries send me an e-mail:
